Important Technology Update

Summer device plan for returning students:

  • K and 1 Students

    • Families of students currently in grades K and 1 who wish to check out an iPad for summer learning need to indicate so by completing the form at by Friday, June 14th.

    • If families request iPads, they will be sent home with the students.

    • The iPad and charger must be brought back on the first day of school September 6, 2023, otherwise a fine for replacement will be issued to the student’s account.


  • 2nd to 5th Students

    • Students returning to NSD in the Fall of 2023 will keep their devices over the summer. 

    • Students and families are expected to take care of their assigned device by keeping it charged and in its bag when not in use.  

    • Students transitioning to another NSD school will bring their devices with them to their new campus.

    • Students who are enrolled in summer learning programs are expected to bring their device to summer programs each day.    

    • All students must bring back their device on the first day of school.

    • Families who wish to opt out of keeping their student’s assigned device will need to indicate that they are “opting out” by completing the form at by Friday, June 14th. If you choose to OPT-OUT, your student will not bring home a device for summer.

Students withdrawing from NSD for the 2023-2024 school year:

  • Families who are withdrawing from NSD must return any technology devices assigned to their students, including computers, tablets, hotspots, and all accessories (bags and chargers).  

  • Students withdrawing from NSD will return their device, charger, and carrying case to their classroom teacher by June 16, 2023 or before their last day of school.

  • Students withdrawing during summer can return their student devices along with their charger and carry case at Hollywood Hill Front office. The timings are as follows:

          June 21 - 29, Monday - Friday  9 am - 12 pm,

           August 9 - Sept 1, Monday - Friday 9 am- 2 pm 


 to the District Admin Building July 1- 31, Monday to Thursday 8 am to 4 pm.

  •  Withdrawing students who do not return their devices and accessories will be issued a fine.

Here is the link for families who wish to opt-out from keeping their student’s assigned device over the summer.

If you choose to send the opt-out link with your newsletter, kindly have the families fill out the form on or before the June 14th, 2023. This will give me enough time to plan and pull out the devices that are not going home for the summer.



I would highly recommend you check if your students are able to locate their Chromebook, chargers, and carrying cases. Please make them check if the CBs are in good working condition. If a student lost/needs a charger/bag, ask them to reach out to me ASAP.
