Dear Families,

It is with heart-felt warmth that I introduce myself to the Hollywood Hill Elementary community. I am excited to be joining a school community focused on the  shared mission of upholding the foundations of relationships to positively impact each student, every day. With this mission in mind, I feel the focus of Hollywood Hill Elementary aligns with my personal value of keeping relationships and students at the heart of my work. One reason I love being an administrator.  is that I get to connect and engage with all members of the school community. I thoroughly enjoy talking with kids about their learning, engaging with staff about their teaching, and listening to families’ hopes and dreams for their child(ren). Relationships are the foundation of a thriving school and successful students, and I look forward to building a relationship with you.

For the past nineteen years, I have been dedicated to the field of education. This time has included teaching in the classroom, supporting the professional growth of educators at the district level, and working as a school administrator. I have been honored to serve in the Northshore School District for the last nine years as both the assistant principal of Canyon Creek Elementary, and most recently as the principal of Fernwood Elementary for the past six and a half years.

Prior to beginning my journey as an educator, I attended the University of Washington where I also participated as a student athlete. I was so struck with husky pride that I returned there to receive both my masters in teaching and in educational leadership. Beyond my schooling and experience, these days, the way I view education has also been highly influenced by my role  as a parent. While my son is currently of preschool age, I am excited to bring this lens to my work at Hollywood Hill knowing he may attend here one day. My family lives in Woodinville, so please feel free to say “Hi” if you see us at the grocery store, park, or other locations around town.

I am eagerly anticipating meeting all of you and greeting the smiling faces of your students each day as your principal. I look forward to getting to know each of you and working in partnership in support of your students.
